‘Early Years’ Programme

Promoting personal safety for all staff working in Nurseries & Play Schemes.

The aim of the SchoolSAFE Early Years programme is to increase the awareness of personal safety issues for everyone in pre-school settings. We will address how to keep everything safe.

Our aim is to: -

Promote good working practice

Reduce confrontation through the use of preventative strategies

Ensure staff are clear about their role when they are working with children in order that their rights and those of the children are protected.

The programme will include physical de-escalation skills appropriate for use with young children. An advanced physical skills element can be added at a later date should the need arise. The skills taught will be based on risk assessments relating to specific behaviours not addressed within the core programme
